CEO
Mando Rayo is co-author of 'Austin Breakfast Tacos' and CEO and Engagement Strategist at Mando Rayo + Collective, a deconstructed multicultural agency based in Austin, Texas.

By day, Mando Rayo is the leader of MRC and by night he’s a self-appointed taco journalist. Mando is the co-author of ‘Austin Breakfast Tacos: The Story of the Most Important Taco of the Day.’ As a grassroots cocinero and taco aficionado, Mando shares his Latino perspectives and canvasses Austin and beyond to explore all things tacos through the blog, TacoJournalism. While most food bloggers focus on trendy foods and fancy trailers, Mando focuses on the richness of the taco culture, from the history, the food and the people. Austin Breakfast Tacos is available now at Bookpeople.com, Amazon.com, BarnesandNoble.com & TacoJournalism.com. The History Press, 192 pp., $14.99.

Mando's work is deep rooted in multicultural experiences. Mando and his team offer strategies, content development and campaigns that focus on building brands and engaging online communities. Mando was part of the team that developed Social Revolución and El Hangout ATX at SXSW and the Austin Advertising Federation Hispanic Marketing Symposium. Mando has worked for clients including Whataburger, LIVESTRONG, Goodwill Industries, KLRU-TV, PBS Austin, Hahn Public Communications, Hispanic Foundation of Silicon Valley, Blanton Museum of Art and more. Mando is a frequent presenter at national conferences, including South by Southwest Interactive Festival and Hispanicize, and has been featured in the New York Times and on NPR’s All Things Considered. Mando hails from the West Texas town of El Paso, aka El Chuco. Mando lives in East Austin with his familia; he’s married to Ixchel Granada de Rayo and has two lovely kiddos, Quetzal Trinidad Rayo and Diego Armando Tenoch Rayo, and a chicken named Elmo.
