As Senior Vice President of Communications and Talent Strategy, Alfredo Richard is responsible for all corporate, internal and crisis communications, as well as programming publicity efforts for Telemundo Media. He also oversees Telemundo Network’s talent strategy and cross promotion initiatives. Working closely with senior management at the network and the station group, as well as with the international, digital and cable groups, Richard is charged with creating, implementing and managing communication programs to strategically position the company among its key stakeholders.
Since Richard joined Telemundo Media, the multi-platform company has enjoyed growing visibility among advertisers, Hispanic opinion leaders and viewers, as well as talent and the industry in general. He is part of the executive team that led the company to the creation of its original content model, which has driven Telemundo Network to record-breaking Upfront sales and ratings performance fueled by original productions such as “La Reina del Sur,” “El Señor de los Cielos,” “La Patrona,” and the singing competition, “La Voz Kids.”
Additionally, Richard has been instrumental in developing the network’s pro-social initiatives such as the decade-long educational campaign “El Poder de Saber” (The Power of Knowledge); the company-wide voter registration campaign “Vota por tu Futuro” (Vote for your Future); and the year-long 2010 Census awareness campaign “Hazte Contar” (Be Counted), as well as other initiatives related to key social issues including self- esteem, health and self-empowerment, among others.
