Cynthia Corzo’s work has been recognized with a Pulitzer Prize and an Interamerican Press Association award. While at The Miami Herald, she was on the team that won the Pulitzer Prize for Breaking News Reporting in 2001 for coverage of Elian González’ removal from his Miami home and his return to Cuba with his father. In 1994, she received a Sociedad Interamericana de Prensa (SIP) Jorge Mantilla Ortega award for the story “Como dan gracias los balseros,” published in El Nuevo Herald.
